Resilient Sound Clip Calculator

How To Use This Calculator

For the best results, type in the width and height of each wall or ceiling. The 'height' measurement for the ceiling is the length of the joists. We recommend 24" hat channel spacing for single or double layer drywall and 16" hat channel spacing for triple layer drywall. Select the total number of doors and windows you have located in each wall that is being clipped. Then select staggered layout and click calculate. The result will provide you with a great estimate on the number of clips you need and the estimated linear footage for furring hat channel. If you want a quick estimate, then enter the total square footage of each ceiling and wall being clipped into the box below, select 24" or 16" based on the number of layers drywall installed, then staggered layout, and click calculate. The estimate won't be as precise, but generally close enough if you don't know the exact measurements of each surface. Don't be too nervous about over ordering as any extra product can be returned within 60 days!

EXTRA TIPS:This calculator works for all GenieClip RST, HushFrame Raft, Green Glue Noiseproofing Clip, and RSIC-1 estimates with both 24" or 16" on center spacing for hat channel. For GenieClip LB2 or LB3 estimates, the joist spacing is generally going to be your hat channel spacing. So if your joists are 16" on center, you must select 16" on center hat channel regardless of the number of layers of drywall you are installing.
