Pipe Wrap Installation Guide

1. Pre-fit before applying: With the release paper still attached, cut the wrap to size and check the fit. It should fully encircle the drain or exhaust pipe, with seams tight or slightly overlapping.
2. Apply slowly: Remove the release paper from the butyl backing, align the sheet, and press it firmly to avoid wrinkles or trapped air bubbles.
3. Wrap completely: Continue around the pipe until fully covered. For elbows, corners, or fittings, use smaller sections to maintain full contact and a smooth seal.

Duct Wrap Installation Guide

Installation on sheet metal ducts follows the same process, but typically involves larger surface areas:

1. Measure and cut to size with the release paper attached.
2. Apply gradually, keeping the surface smooth and ensuring seams are tight or slightly overlapped.
3. The butyl adhesive is extremely strong, so work carefully, removal and repositioning are not possible once applied.

Performance Tips

• Suitable for metal or plastic surfaces up to 1/8 inch thick.
• Doubling the wrap can increase damping performance by up to three times.
• Use on ductwork, drain pipes, machinery panels, or HVAC systems to achieve maximum vibration and noise reduction.

Each Pipe and Duct Wrap sheet measures 19.5 inches by 31.5 inches, covering approximately 4.25 square feet per sheet.

For drain pipe installations, calculate the circumference of any pipe or round duct, multiply the diameter by 3.14.:

• One sheet covers about 38 linear inches of a 4-inch pipe.
• One sheet covers about 62 linear inches of a 3-inch pipe.

For larger surfaces, such as HVAC ducts or machinery panels, calculate the total square footage of the area and divide by 4.25 to estimate how many sheets you need.

Minimal material is wasted during installation since overlaps are small, and leftover scrap pieces can be reused to fill gaps or smaller uncovered areas.
