SpecSeal SSP Putty Stick
- Each stick is 12" long, 36 cubic inches
- Used to seal around electrical, plumbing, doors, and windows
SpecSeal Firestop Putty is used to seal around common construction openings for electrical wires, conduit, plumbing, HVAC, doors, and windows. The electrical sealing putty material is sound and fire tested to maintain maximum sound and fire ratings. Each stick is about 12" long and 2" in diameter with 36 cubic inches of material inside each tube.
The SSP Putty Stick can be used for several applications. The most common applications are around conduit, plumbing, HVAC, as well as power, voice, and data cables. The pliability of the conduit sealing putty makes for a great fit in any sized opening both permanent or temporary. These openings should be filled with the SpecSeal Firestop Putty instead of spray foams or similar to maintain fire ratings and STC ratings. Tear pieces off the SSP Firestop Putty Stick as needed or mold to fit the opening.
DOORS AND WINDOWS
The space between the door jamb and framing, as well as between the window frame and framing, is best filled with a sealing putty material. Foam gasket is often used in these gaps, but is ineffective when trying to achieve high STC ratings. Putty material is the material of choice in acoustic labs across the country for sealing these types of gaps.
Each putty stick contains 36 cubic inches of putty material in a tube that is roughly 12" long and 2" in diameter.
The putty stick is wrapped in a release paper inside a tube. The putty is easy to mold, tear, roll, and piece together where needed.
DOORS AND WINDOWS
Mold the SSP Putty Stick to fill larger gaps. Fill narrow gaps by rolling the putty into a rope-like shape. Press the putty against the frame and framing to create a seal.
